Anyone ever dealt with changing these out? Had the window opening taped up for a couple of weeks and just decided to see what I could do and what was broke. I pulled it apart and took the assembly out and of course the plastic part the window sits on is what was broken. Any input is appreciated.
The window regulators are not bad to replace. From the sounds of it, you need an entire window regulator assembly as that nylon piece is not available by itself, unless you know someone with a 3D printer.
O'Reilly Auto Parts has started carrying quite an assortment of window regulators with and without motors. The Dorman models they sell are usually quite a bit less expensive than OEM.
Thanks. Yeah I'm gonna replace the whole thing so I don't have to mess with hooking up the pulleys and cable. Found a place that has them for 45 bucks but gotta do some research on them. Sure wish they would used something better then plastic
Got the part today and put it in. Easy as pie. Drilling the rivet out was the hardest part. Will have to get a bolt and nut to reattach the regulator to the window mount but the tape is off and window is up.
This. Right. Here. The sole reason I'd buy a 3D printer for myself..fix all the stupid plastic stuff that breaks on things. I could start a small cottage industry fixing broken things because a plastic gear wore out, or a clip snapped.

I actually do this for myself, my kids, and friends and family. I haven't had to design up the nylon for a window regulator yet, but I've done multiple gears, toy parts, key fob cases, battery doors, etc. My 3D printer is probably one of the best "toys" I've purchased, ever.
