Is it not shutting off like you didn't turn the key of far is it dieseling? Dieseling typically occurs on a carbureted engine with the idle set too high. What engine and fuel delivery system do you have?

It is a 351 Windsor efi and I just changed the ignition switch still keeps going.
sounds like the ignition actuator may be broken.
99% of the time they break in a no start position, but i have had 6-7 that have broke in a no shutoff position.
try this:
lower the column and remove the ignition switch. use a small screwdriver to start the truck by moving the switch where the rod goes, and then see if you can shut it off with the screwdriver by moving the switch the other way.
if it starts and shuts off and the switch is properly adjusted, the actuator is broken.
I agree with TJC. Mine did the same last June. My mother's work truck did this about 3 years ago. Both trucks needed the upper actuator rod (the one with the pin pressed in) replaced as both had the pins fall out. Both broke in the no shutoff position.
Yup, I had the same problem, broke initially in the on position as well. Had an easier middle of nowhere solution/diagnosis though. If you remove the plastic cover on the column(two phillips screws from underneath) you can get pliers(I used needle nose vise grips) on the actuator rod. Pulling it towards you should shut the truck off. Push towards dash to start again.
I was camping in the middle of nowhere when it broke. I drove it for a week like that until I had a chance to fix it right.
