I think they make some good points. Not sure they're right about the "any speed" diff lock in the F150 though, mine disengages at 25 MPH.
I have to laugh at all the comments about how heavy duty pickup owners shouldn't need backup assist. I've seen LOTS of people driving everything from a small car to a semi tractor who aren't very good at backing a trailer. If one of them backed into your truck you may feel different about a tool that may help prevent such accidents.
Can we bring back a 'base' model with just basic creature comforts - a/c, power windows + locks for crew cabs? Heck, many of the trucks I see on here have lots of stuff replaced anyway.
How did we survive without all these options just 10-15 years ago?
Pretty soon everybody will be demanding the bed option because the cost will be close to that of a house.
Rattle, my FIRST car with Power Steering & AC was in 1974! Had no idea what I was missing.
As for the 110 plug in the bed of the truck, not sure what you would run off it, at best it would be good for less than 200 watts, hair dryer is 1500 watts.
Back up assist, yea, put the dang camera NOT in the tailgate, solve the problem...
