I will be installing some under -hood lighting lighting, a tach, and the radius arm bushings this weekend.
I grabbed one of the tachs that summit had on sale for $5, and it arrived yesterday.
and some LED strips for under the hood from Amazon.
I picked up the white LEDs so I can have lighting under the hood if the need to work on it arises away from home. $3.57 and free shipping from Amazon at
will do. I am putting them on the cab facing side of the cross bars under the hood. it will angle them down at the engine without facing out and blinding the person with the hood up.
Afternoon Jim! I've been putting some thought into making the reflectors on the sides of the hood light up. It was discussed in a bump thread yesterday. Got my wheels turning on how to do it.
Those LED's look cool Maybe I'll buy a set for my Thunderbird SC. Since it sounds like it will be a work in progress if I do decide to buy it. It has been on Craigslist for over a month. No wonder, with $761 in DMV fees hanging around its neck. (Still cheap for an SC in my humble opinion) Hopefully will be able to see it tomorrow, along with a one owner 1995 regular Thunderbird LX. That one runs, and is currently smogged. The other one, I will have to pay someone to drain the gas, since it has been sitting for two years. And there is no battery, so I will need one of those too. I have been without a vehicle since December of last year, if I have to wait a couple of weeks, or even a month to get the SC working I think it is worth it. Although, a one owner running Thunderbird is nice too, even if it has faded paint, interior and non working AC.
Jim, just from looking at the pics, I would go with the running and smogged V8 car over the SC V6. The V6 could cost more than it's worth to get legal and reliable.
