I think i'm overthinking this and the instructions don't help me.
I bought the glowshift 3 in 1 gauges. They came with everything needed to wire them up.
On the EGT gauge there's two leads coming off of it. Same goes for the transmission.
I know one lead from each of them needs to go to the back of the gauges, but what's the other wire for? Is that a ground or does that also need to go to the back of the gauge, and if it does how do i know which is which?
In the picture below the yellow is the constant 12v, the red is switched 12v, the black is a ground, and the orange is the one i tapped into the headlight switch (to dim the gauges.)
The pink and blue confuse me. This is for the EGT gauge. I know one of the leads from the EGT gauge needs to go to one of those, but which, and then what is the other for?
I hate reading instructions because the first 5 or 6 times they make absolutely no sense. But eventually they do. Take a breather, then come back and take another read.
I've read the instructions at least a dozen times.
I figured out the egt one. The wires on the probe that go into the exhaust manifold were blue and pink. Using my best judgement to assume they go together.
Picked up the transmission harness and now I'm really lost. I don't know if one of the wires is broken off the "6" tab or what. There's nothing there and I don't know if there's supposed to be. Then the green wire. Nothing mentions if that goes to the white or black wire on the transmission probe.
Watched a video on youtube. Mines normal and not broken. He connected the green wire to the white wire and then the black wire from the plug (that goes to the gauge) to the black wire on the probe.
I guess the black wire on the probe is a ground for the transmission sensor? I hope grounding that with the rest of the grounds dont throw something off.

Some one here has done this . hopefully they will jump in and help you
Got it sorted out. Here's what Glowshift replied to me for anyone else confused by this.
"You have nothing to worry about because for our trans temp gauges, there is no wire in that 6th slot. There are only 5 wires for that gauge and it's harness. You'll have two power wires (red and yellow) , a ground wire (Black), a dimming wire (Orange), and a signal wire (green)."
