Codes with my mini maxx

I've had my mini maxx and my new 4" exhaust for about a month. My mpg hasn't went up alot. Started at 14.4 now depending on if I'm hauling or not its at most 14.8. This is disappointing. I am running a diagnostic right now and checked my engine first and got the code P0297 Vehicle Overspeed Condition. I've never gone 95mph like other forums have stated? Can I just clear the code off my mini maxx or do I have to take it to a shop and is this something I need to worry about.

If clearing it is an option on the mini-max, I'd clear it. I have a mini-maxx tune on my truck, but has an Edge Insight CTS hooked up, so I check and clear codes with the Edge.
