If they run it on the f150 platform as that article suggests it'll be a failure. That's what the extended Expedition is for. If they're going to revive the nameplate it needs to be on a 3/4 ton platform, minimum...and with a diesel option.

x2 I would still have to wait 5 or 6 years to be able to afford one
Looks like clickbait to me. Ford will never bring back the X (much as I wish they would) because of the environmental pressure. That's the reason they killed it in the first place and the environmental groups have only gotten stronger in the last 10 years. Sigh

That's my plan. I'm putting money into it now while parts are available to try to get another 15 years out of it. By the end of that time my kids will be out of the house and I won't care so much if a crew cab pickup is the best I can do in a 3/4 ton chassis.

$550 of suspension parts this week. Rebuilt the engine in the spring of 13. Body work, mirrors, and head lights later this fall...I'm well on my way to keeping Monster for many more years!

That's not really why. If it was, there would be no Super Duty or Suburban or anything else remotely that large. Excursions simply were not selling but the Super Duty sure was...they needed the additional capacity at the Kentucky plant that discontinuing the Excursion would provide...it's basic economics - opportunity cost.
Even sounds like Donald Trump wrote it: "could even amaze people once it is available in the market..." and then goes on to provide zero details of any substance.
