I have a 87 f150 with the 351 Windsor and the other day my brother was driving it and it had quit at a stop light. He started it up again and got it home, however it doesn't seem to wanna idle. I am suspecting ignition issues? Ran great before this little incident happened. I replaced the distributor cap today and that didn't seem to help. It has full power going down the road but just won't idle. Sounds like an old tractor.. Any ideas?
It is not. I've only owned it for a few months as I bought it from an elderly guy who took very good care of it. I replaced the wires and plugs right when I got it, ran great up until the other day. Now it won't idle..
After replacing the distributor cap tonight I didn't run them in the correct firing order and wouldn't start but I looked in my repair Manuel and got the correct firing order and it starts now.
