Thanks Mark. I wasn't aware of that. I have also read it could possibly be the fan clutch.?. Is there any way of diagnosing before diving in? There is a shop close by with an AE scanner. Would that tell me? Also, is the TRS easy to get to after dropping the pan? I know my way around the 6.0 a little bit with the usual hpop, oil cooler and egr problems but have never tackled anything with the tranny. I really appreciate your expertise and advice!

A scan tool such as AE could tell if the TRS is indicating park or neutral. The actual start circuit is separate, and AE can't read that.

There are diagnostics in the shop manual. I don't have a manual to share that with you.

The TRS is not hard to change once the pan is off.
