help with clutch install zf5 did i install backwards?
so i took apart didn't pay attention, does the raised collar with the gear splines go towards the flywheel or the transmission. the clutch won;t disengage after i buttoned up everything, i see the fork moving and throwout bearing but not the clutch disk can anyone take a picture and post what way it goes?

Would it even fit the other way around?? I did the LuK SMF conversion and I don't remember having to figure out which way was correct. I say that because I've only ever done two clutches so its not like riding a bike for me.
Anyway if it's not disengaging I wouldn't think clutch plate orientation is the issue... More like throw-out bearing/fork throw issues. Like its not covering enough distance to separate the plates. Did you crack the clutch line at all and maybe there is air in it?

Never cracked open any line or messed with the slave, just pulled trans off and r&r the engine with different one. i did push the slave rod back so it wouldn't pop out and loose the throwout bearing. maybe the fork came off the bearing? is it supposed to be behind it or in middle any pictures how it looks?
Good news is you can pull the fork and reinstall without removing the transmission, through the hole in the side.
Make sure it's pivoting on the correct point(there's a depression which fits a ball inside the bellhousing), and the fork "tines" are inside the groove in the throwout bearing.
