2008 V10 Acceleration Buzz

Over the past couple of weeks my truck has developed a pretty consistent metallic buzz on light/moderate acceleration. At first I thought it was a heat shield rattling, but I've been under it a dozen times and can't find anything loose to make the metallic buzz that I'm hearing... I can pound on several places in the exhaust system with my palm and it seems solid/connected everywhere Anyone else have a similar issue with a V10 truck??

Have same truck, just started hearing the same thing on mine. Very faint, radio has to be off to hear it. I had the 10M05 Catalytic service warranty work done and it developed shortly after that service. Just turned 72K miles ???????????????

Service bulletin 10M05, recall on the catalyst Y pipe. Basically premature catlytic converter failure. Have copy of original letter dated 10-2010 if you need it.

Check the heat shield that passes under the oil pan. The spot welds are kind of poor and can break.

FOUND IT!!

It was the heat shield around the muffler. It finally got to the point where it would consistently buzz right at 1500rpm, so I had my wife hold it there while I crawled around under it and sure enough, the heat shield was vibrating like mad! A couple of large hose clamps later, it's quiet as a mouse
