So I tested the glow plug harness. Want to make sure I tested it right, its should be the pin closest to the firewall and the one furthust from it right? I got 100 ohms on the passager side and 1 ohm on the drivers side. From what I've read it shouldn't be higher than 4 so am I gonna be replacing the passager side one?
11.5 volts with the key off on both posts? That means your gpr is stuck on. Your batteries may be too low on juice to turn it over fast enough. If that is the case disconnect the large wire on the gpr that comes from the fender. Charge the batteries and try to start it.
No thats with the key on. I had to go out of town for work so I'm away from the truck, its quite possible my batteries are no good, who knows when my grandpa last replaced them when I get back into town I'll test them luckily none of these parts by them selves are very expensive, it would suck to have to replace two batteries. I think I'm just going to make an emergency kit that will allow me to change the some of the more common problems, fuses, CPS, a UVCWH, and a GPR (I've read the new ones even the ford ones are junk)
If I have to change the UVCWH I'd it a good idea to swap the glow plugs while I'm there? Or do they generally not fail to often?
Just wanted to post and thank everyone for the tips and ideas, ended up being a bad UVCWH, I went ahead and swapped glow plugs while I was in there. Trucks been running great. Now to sort out some electrical shorts, fix the speakers, and rebuild/upgrade the turbo
