6.4 bumper on a 96 obs?

Just seeing if anyone here has done this with their obs. I'm not an old fart so I hate chrome. I am a welder, but would actually rather put a 6.4 bumper on and paint it rather than weld up a new one. What's needed? Custom brackets? Kit?

Im not an old fart and I like chrome bumpers
As for your original question everything is possible, just keep in mind your going to fabricate custom brakets and have to cut that bumper to fit, make sure you cut from the center of the bumper and not from the edges, weld, grind, paint and admire your work.
Make sure if you do we at FTE love pics

No offense meant bud! My brother and I have a running joke about chrome. I'll be sure to take pictures and put them in the thread again! Thanks!

I'm a welder too . What would be the point ? Get an OBS bumper & Paint it .Anything is possible if you have enough time to waste .Again , what is the point ?

Personal preference. I don't particularly like how far out the original bumper sticks. I've seen pictures of the 6.4 on an obs and I just like the look better is all. But I suppose sand blasting and painting the one I already have isn't a bad idea either.

since you're a welder, I'd be curious to see what it would look like with the holes filled in. I think the big holes don't fit with how the OBS was designed. That center hole is an awesome spot to put a light bar though!

I know a guy with one. He built the mounting brackets.the outer holes he made filler panels painted to match the bumper and his lower two tone band. It looks nice.
Just not my personal taste.

Maybe I'll bend that way. Sounds like a nice side project. No hammering involved I suppose. I'm just pulling off the plastic trim right now what a PITA.
