abs lights and speedometer jumping
I own a 1999 Ranger sport with 78K miles on it. My problem is that I was driving along and the ABS light came on and the speedometer went to zero. the engine continued to run . As I traveled to a safe stopping point the speedometer jumped back up to my speed for awhile and then finally went back to zero. The abs light stays on until I shut off the truck and then restart it, when sometimes it stays off. Any ideas or help on this issue?

Hey hardrider, welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts!
Sounds like you might have a problem with your rear anti-lock brake sensor which is responsible for sending speed information to the computer.
Take a look at these threads regarding a very similar problem:
ABS and O/D stay on + speedometer malfunctioning.
