I had taken it off the same way but I had LIFT on the pipe. I did pay attention and made a mental note of what it took to get it off and figured standing on it would put it back about where it was. I used to lift when I was a young man (but skipped leg day a lot- haha). Now I'm low speed but can still come up with some torque when I need to.
Same here surprisingly. Bird legs and wide shoulders (for my size)
But my 5 foot cheater bar is my best friend
A strong 1/2" impact if not a 3/4" can pull that off easily. I've a 3/4" torque wrench that I think goes that low. Also a 3/4" torque multiplier if you've ever seen one.
The sprocket nut on my HD-9B dozer if I remember is about 3,800 lb-ft.
The Allis-Chalmers manual has an interesting way to tighten that by hand. Anybody want to guess what you do? It's not a cheater bar or hydraulics.
