Can someone tell me what color my interior is supposed to be? The code is CR3.
Thanks
What color is it now and what is making you ask the question? Do you think it was changed from factory? I'm thinking a little bit of backround info might be helpful in responding to your question. My best guess would be to follow the outline in the forum sticky for requesting a build sheet if you are looking to find out what your truck was assembly line built with.
The BODY code *contains* the paint code... I see it's a MY 1980... maybe Bill will be kind enough to look this up in his books, I'm on a tiny laptop without that stuff....
Your tag shows body manufacturer codes.....I don't see color codes. which should be on the top line.
I would consult NumberDummy about your tag. He is a Ford Service Parts Manager.
<p>I was wrong, the exterior paint code is contained (I think) in the TYPE-GVW field and not the BODY field.... that would contain the interior color...</p><p>Paging @NumberDummy</p>
^ Chris, it's not a good idea to volunteer information, especially when you are unsure. ^

Body code: The first two digits define the seat upholstery and the trim level(s), the 2nd digit also defines the interior paint color, the third digit defines the body style.
CR3: CR = Pine Cloth & Vinyl - Ranger or Ranger XLT / R = Medium Pine (1980) / C = Regular Cab with Flareside pickup box.

</p><p>Yeah, I know... I'm just trying to help the guy, and I figure if I post to the thread, I should be able to more easily find his question again later when I have the books...</p><p>I was thinking of the interior trim color, I remembered it's someplace in that BODY (I think) code... the exterior color, I totally forgot about... it wasn't until I was on my way to work this morning when it occurred to me, it's ABOVE that lower line of codes and is labeled all by itself - which whatsachevy (Don?) had mentioned earlier...</p><p>I get myself caffeinated up and try to do 1,000 things all at the same time, none of them very well it seems....</p>
I was thinking of the interior trim color, I remembered it's someplace in that BODY (I think ) code.
Sometimes, people type stuff before shifting their brains into gear.
I had forgotten that the paint color of the interior is the 2nd digit of the body code, but it's found in the paint section, not in the soft trim section.
