Going to revive this thread. Picking up a 1963 F100 that has a 292 engine. 3 on the tree. All stock. Curious did the OP upgrade to headers? How did it improve?

.Does it still have the front crossover exhaust manifolds? I can tell you what I know. I have a 64. I had a pair of long tube headers on mine. The engine is not stock but I never really cared for the headers. When John Mummert started offering ramshorn manifolds I ordered a pair. I love them. The exhaust tone is better than with headers with the exact exhaust system. I noticed no change in power. I gave my headers away that is how much I didn't like them.
