Install is PITA 8 hours for a very stong shop with 2 guys working with air and a lift dyno # with free flowing exhaust and headers is 16 RWHP and 12 RWTQ kinda weak for a bill of around $2500.00 parts and labor
Try a tunner (SCT,Diablo or Edge) CAI (AF1,Airaid or Volant) And weld on a free flowing Exhaust(Magnaflow or AeroTurbine) E-fans, underdrive pullys and if thats not enough BLOW it
PS with the list of bolt ons you should push around 270 RWHP (Stock # RWHP 220 to 240) and around 350+ RWTQ( Stock 260 RWTQ)
From what I've heard, headers are not worth it,($600+labor) lots hours to put them in and very little power gains. Also adds cab nosie for maybe 15 hp..... Still the Edge programmer is the best performance for the money, I love that thing.
I have pace setter long tubes on my truck and they were a PITA. Took me 9 hrs on my back in my garage to do the install with 5 hrs of that just to remove and install the passenger side header. This install is not for the faint hearted.
I am happy with my system LT's, 3" magnaflow high flow cats, 2.5" x-pipe and 2.5" DI/DO magnaflow with side exit before tire. Total cost was 986.95 with me doing all the labor of removing the old system and installing the headers.
Just got my headers on, Gibson stainless shortys. they do add some noise in the engine area, a slight noticable change in hp and slightly better mpg. I installed mine by myself in about 3hrs, start to finish. The trick is to be very knowledgable and to have access to a lift and ac recovery/charging machine. I had the whole cab lifted of the frame in about 45 min, lifted engine slightly ans installed headers in about 1 hr and reset cab(had some extra eyes to help line it back up), filled cooling system, recharged ac and other stuff in another hour or so.

Do you get any new rattles of vibrations from removing the cab? I would like to get head studs done on my 6.0L, but everyone wants to remove the cab. Kinda scares me.
You have to remove the cab to install head studs on a 6.0. If you trust someone enough to pull your heads and install head studs, they better know how to lift a cab and get everything set back properlly. I have no problems, but I did it myself, so you know I made sure everything was perfect
I have been told by a few people Ford is wanting dealerships to remove the engine to do head stud. They say that there have been many complaints as to noises after removing the cab. I dont know, this is just what I have been told.
Remember, you are working on YOUR truck. Of couse you would make it perfect on YOUR truck. Suposedly the diesel tech at my local garage is one of the best or atleast one of the best around. I guess if I had to have it done I wouldn't worry too much. I just hope I dont have to find out. lol
You could always send your truck to me and I'll do it, I'm the gas and diesel driveability and repair man at my dealership as well as a gear head, want more power, replace the stock headgaskets with f-650 gaskets and that'll increase you compression ratio, just be sure to check piston to valve clearance if doing so!!!
