We travel allot of gravel country roads and forest service roads and I have always gone with Cooper Discoverers or Yokohama Geolanders on our work trucks and my personal vehicles. Everyone is different though so if you have a good tire shop and research the reviews online you can come up with what will work best for you.
What conditions do you drive in? Our Expy has had Michelin MS2s on for five years and they still ride like new. That's the difference between cheap tires and good tires...the rubber compound remains soft as it wears and ages yet still last a lot of miles. I have KOs on my F250 and my dad has MS2s on his F150, he gets through the same sloppy snow and mud conditions around farms that I do. That has led me to get MS2s next time for the F250 as well.
Here's my take, the all terrain tires of today only get marginally better off-road performance than a quality highway tire if you have 4x4. What you don't get with the highway tire is "cool factor". If you need true off-road grip, go with Duratracs, ST Maxx or some sort of road mannered mud tire. If not, go with a tire that you'll love when you set the cruise for 80 mph and enjoy the quality ride. I may get flamed for this, but all-terrains are neither good in the mud nor good on the highway. Whereas a highway tire and a mud tire are each great for their respective purposes.

I have a 2008 4x4 EL Limited. Got Flauken 20"'s 275/55R20s atm on it.
Liked the tires but their getting to their lifes end.
Coming up on 94,000 miles. Probably be keeping truck for at least another 50K.
I am currently leaning towards the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 All-Terrain.
They seem to be getting good reviews online. And look good.
After changing from the stock 20s to the Flauken I loved the more planted feel of the wider/bigger tire.
Was wondering if anyone had tried the BFGs on their expeditions?

Well got them on Saturday. Like the look and after 60 miles or so I like the ride.
For some reason they feel like a softer ride then the Falken. No idea why that is.
Still feel planted like the Falken did.
