Parking brake cable

I have issues with a parking brake cable, mainly it's missing. This is on a '67 f100 swb truck. Parts store sold me two about a year ago that were the same length. The one on passenger side fit but the drivers side was way to short. This truck has Dana 44 (I believe) my other truck which is same set up except it has ford 9" rearend, has what looks to be same length parking brake cables. Would the type of rearend dictate the length of the parking brake cables? I don't drive the truck that much but it's sometimes impossible to get out and block the wheels. Just something that needs to be fixed.

Type of rear axle makes no difference. But what does make a difference is, these cables are 1967 F100 2WD only.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know how much I disliked the word "obsolete" until it was used here, referring to parts I NEED. If things continue to be slow here at work looks like I'll be able to make a few phone calls and run this cable down.
