Super Duty backfire on startup

Started my truck this morning. 2000 F350, V10, 153000 on the clock. Immediately sounded like a shotgun went off under the hood, now it sounds like it's running a cutoff exhaust. Had a tiny manifold tick prior to this, but can it backfire hard enough to crack/destroy the manifold?

Sure you did not blow a spark plug?

Yes I did. The 8th plug blew out, but the spark plug threads back in? What should I do?

Well I checked threads on the head, they were good. Checked spark plug, it was good. The coil pack exploded apart though. I torqued the spark plug down to 11 inch pounds like my Haynes Manual said, didn't bolt the pack back down in case it did it again and started it up. Nothing bad happened, I think that the spark plug wasn't in all the way from the previous owner.
