A mouse or worse, a squirrel has chewed into a small green wire loop that's located under the passenger side battery on my '06.
It looks like a green wire w/ brown stripe. It's a jumper wire plug.
Anyone know what circuit they chewed?
again, the plug/ jumper is a GN/BN loop.
The reason how I found the nawed wire is because the battery has an insulative wrap that I found to have a hole chewed in it. I had to remove the battery to fix the wrap , that's when I discovered this chewed gn/bn loop wire on a plug.
It looks like it was designed for an option that would plug into a round 6 pin? plug. The 5-6 wires that feed this plug are small wires that look that they would just carry a sensor signal or possibly an amp or two. This comes out of a larger harness that is strapped all along the passenger side fender.
Second alternator circuit, snowplow prep I don't know for sure, but I remeber it under there. Yahiko with all his diagrams might be able to pin that down. Shrink tube is your friend.

If you have any idea on what I need to be looking for I can check diagrams.
I have seen that jumper and don't have any idea what it hooks up to what.

As you probably have noticed, we here in the US don't typically have daytime running lights on our SuperDuty trucks.
Most of the DLR is in the BJB and the rest uses the headlight lamps at a lower voltage. So that little jumper
is most likely not part of that. M-chan or Cheezit would likely know what it is. Need to ask one of them.

I don't know what the OP wire is but I don't think it is from the DRL option. My truck is from canada so it had the DRLs until I unplugged the module which is on the driver side of the vehicle.
It's getting to be that time of year where the critters around me are getting busy. Over the years they have pretty much chewed up all the insulation in my 6.0 engine bay.
I have found acorns stashed in nooks in crannies in the engine.
I have found grass and leaves crammed in front of the air filter, once they even began chewing on the air filter.
Have found one wire where the began gnawing through the insulation on the passenger side.
Sure would like to find a sure fire way to keep the critters out of the engine bay, as Ex stays outside in the driveway.
Has anyone put some kind of screen at the cold air intake to the air filter? Stock setup.
I live in rodent central, what's worked well for me is propping the hood open 12 16 inches, with a piece of wood, pvc or whatever, stopped my rat problem, good luck

Well spring has somewhat sprung here in Michigan and I find new nesting material in front of my air filter this week. If I drove it everyday it might not happen.
