What do you mean by upfitter kit? If you mean aftermarket or cold air intake you don't need it on this motor. The factory intake will flow WAY more than the factory turbo can use AND hold up to 3 lbs of dirt before it plugs.

It looks like he had read Bill's signature and saw the up fitter switches he installed.

coasting , you will need to do some dash work to fit them in an 04 dash. There have been a few that have done this with success. Or, you can find an 05 lower dash panel and swap that out and put in the switches.

Here is where I put my extra switches:

You are correct, I asked the question to the wrong post. I had read through so many trying to learn what to do and not to do.
Great job on the install you did. I will have to look into the 05 dash you mentioned.

The filter minder never moved ( I guess it didn't need to).

I decided to weigh the new filter on a scale and compare it to the old filter to identify just how much dirt has accumulated in the past 8 years. To my surprise it had trapped just 6.2 ounces of debris.

The fresh FA-1778 filter cartridge weighed in at 59.22 ounces (1,689 grams) ( with this reference weight as a comparison, it may help you guys know how much has accumulated in you air filter.)

So ten years or so from now, I guess I'll be checking it again.
Well the 10 years didn't last long as early on this year a rodent (stupid squirrel) made a nest in the snorkel and chewed up and packed the fender well insulation into the air filter AFTER chewing the Brand Spankin' New blue media Donaldson Air Filter!

My filter minder would go off after goosing it from a stop and I was like

Stupid Squirrel cost me a new filter. I did however put galv. 1/4" mesh over the snorkel now.

I know, old post but had to vent my earlier frustration.

I don't have it handy but I have posted a squirrel repellant mixture
that seems to work well. They don't seem to like cayenne pepper.
You might have a look at this one >>> Homemade Squirrel Repellent Spray Recipes For Your Garden | ALL THINGS SQUIRREL REPELLENT

Good for wiring too I hear. And if you like HOT sauces ...

I tried the cayene pepper squirrel repellent to stop them from eating through my garbage pails. It worked so well that I now have a chicken wire enclosure for the pails.

Squirrel hunting is not permitted here.

Do you have squirrels down south of the border that like it HOT?

Put a little extra something something in some peanut butter.
Just have to dispose of the dead rodents.

Stupid Squirrel

My "Anti-Squirrel" repellent is one that has been working for me (so far so good)
I bought a couple of these stainless tea infusers and clipped them to whatever I could find under the hood. (one per side)

Packed them with cotton ***** soaked in fox pee found at the local Sporting Goods outlet. (How they follow a fox around to collect pee I have no clue)
Since they are a squirrel's natural predator, thought I'd giver a go with this method.
Also put a spritzer type sprayer on the bottle of pee so I can spritz around my tires before the vermin decide to jump up in the engine bay again.
again, so far so good

Stupid Squirrels.
