Retarded AC
Hey guys my ac seems to have a mind of its own and i was wondering if anyone else had encountered this. It blows nice and cold but now matter what setting i have the fan on sometimes it just blows full force until it decides to stop. it doesn't seem to happen at any particular time or temp or speed, just whenever the hell it decides to. My first thought was the blower motor but ive never had one do this. my only other guess would be the ac controls? sometimes it take a couple minutes to change vents too which is typically a blend door issue, unless the controls are bad? any input is appreciated.

Check the plugs on the pigtail harness on the fan resistor. Condensation runs right to it and over time it will develop a bad connection. Turn it on and you'll feel the plug getting hot, that's your bad connection. If it shuts off wiggle the plugs and you'll hear it come back on. In the long run you're better off to replace it but if you can get it apart in one piece you may be able to clean the contact terminals.
