Starts good cold and hot. Taking off like a grandpa on an evening drive don't notice a thing. Only codes that keep coming up are 2614 and 2617 which are cmp and ckp open curcuit codes and a software incompatibility code for FICM which is due to the updated software in the fresh FICM I installed. HPO pressures are good, has boost, idles smooth, revs nice when in park. New injectors (cause it was running rough especially cold before) and CMP and CKP (because of the above codes and didn't change)and ICP and IPR (last 2 installed because of HPO codes that are gone now with the IPR and ICP). Fuel pressure is 65psi (updated spring). When you step on it while driving it sputters and bucks like it's out of fuel, let off the throttle a bit and it purrs like a kitten. I'm a little stumped. I think it puffs a little white/blue smoke while it bucks.. not much tho. and it comes in little puffs. Took off filler cap and there is almost no blow by.

Have you had to crank the truck for a long time recently? Otherwise those sensors just simply fail every now and then. while under load with blowing blue smoke i would start looking at the turbo or sensors that provide it information. You can get a surge if you have a bad EBP sensor but the truck wouldn't act like its out of fuel.

I would suggest monitoring VGT% and EBP aswell if you can. Along with ICP and IPR when this is happening.

And blowby is irrelevant but that's good.

I was thinking about turbo too but can it make a bucking/ missing type of issue?

I did try to monitor the stuff while it was doing it and it seemed normal. Ipr about 50%. Icp around 1450.

I did some more driving and it seems there is a point when it's warm that it wants to die at idle too and hardly start. It cranks then half fires like it wants to start then goes to crank only. Like a bad ficm sounds... but only sometimes. Usually it starts good warm. Just once in a while it does it.

But it won't throw other codes.

Now this crazy truck won't start at all... At first it only sputtered/died after about 4 miles of driving.. It died and I could make it kinda run again and die, then it would just crank and fire but not run, and now it will only crank not a single fire. Seemed like a gradual death over a day. HPO is good, cmp ckp sync. FICM shows no sync. fuel press is good. tried other pcm, ficm, icp, checked fuses & relay. It has a aftermarket anti theft system on it. Can that cause a no ficm sync and everything else good? Or is it a wiring issue from pcm to ficm?

Also, RPM reads at approx 170. So it's getting some sync someplace.

After fighting the truck all day yesterday and not a single fire or ficm sync, today i went to the truck and pulled off air filter and it fired up like nothing had ever been wrong. Started wiggling the wires very gently that go from engine to pcm and sure enough it died. Did it a couple more times trying to pin point the issue and now i can not make it die if i pull and twist on the wires if my life depended on it. Not sure what to do next.
