Well I know they made them eventually in 4x4, you see them all over the place in the mid 90’s to late 2000’s model years. I was meaning I was bummed they didn’t make that setup on the 80-86 model years specifically.

I’ll probably be on the lookout for a 2wd SCSB and take the plunge on the 4x4 conversion at some point since it sounds like it’s relatively straight forward and somewhat common to do.

I appreciate the input from everyone. I’m just not nearly as knowledgeable on these old trucks as I am on my current 4Runner.

Good luck finding that too...

AFAIK, the only F150 Super Cab wheelbase is 155 inches for 2WD & 4WD

What about shortening an SCLB? Buy a new bed and cut and weld the frame? Not a no-brainer project, but not as hard as some.

I suppose that’d be an option, but might be just more than what I’m capable of. Who knows though. I’m not going to be doing it anytime really soon with our first little one on the way. I just plan on kind of keeping my eye out and if something is just too good to pass up then pull the trigger and beg for forgiveness later.

And sorry if I came off rude on the last post, didn’t mean it that way.

Are the 2wd SCSB tough to come by too? I feel like I’ve seen them around here and there, but I could be wrong.

Through some basic searches online I can across this one, this is exactly what I’d want in the 80-86 body style:

Actually just found this one online too. It’s a full 3D rendering with 360 views and interior shots.
I wouldn’t have it in brown, but this truck is basically my dream truck. Would love to make this happen someday.

No problem. On-line bulletin boards are a very efficient way to miscommunicate, so I always give posters the benefit of the doubt that if I read something that seemed to give offense I assume that i was just not reading it right. And likewise, sorry if I came off rude or offended. I didn't mean to either.

I don't know. But the other post I quoted above was Bill (NumberDummy) saying that as far as he knew SuperCabs were only available in long box, 2WD or 4WD. Now he did say "AKAIK", indicating that he wasn't 100% sure based on his parts books. But generally he knows what he's talking about. So I really meant the words I said above, good luck with your search.
