OBS ford availability question

I have a 1996 F-350 Diesel 4x4 regular cab longbed. I'd love to find a similar truck with an extended cab/longbed combo. I've seen it on F-250's. The only F-350's I've seen with this combo have been 2wd dualies. Was an extended cab optional on a 4x4 F-350 on the 1997 and down trucks?

If not, I may convert a 2wd over to 4wd. Just curious if anyone knows or not. I cant ever remember seeing one.

Thanks

OBS= Old Body Style

Sorry. That's how I've heard it referred to many times since the "Super Duty" came out in 99.

Thanks for the welcome, too. I actually joined quite awhile back, but I guess I'm not a big poster

I believe you're out of luck. A quick glance in my 96 brochure only shows F-350 Supercabs dual rear wheel 4x2. I have the other years brochures also and can look, but I know that's the only way I've seen them in person too.

I took my 94 cab chassy and converted it into an extended cab for around $600. It took me 6 weeks working on it after work. I drove it for 3 weeks of the process. I bought a 86 F250 extended cab truck with no engine or tranny or box for $150 and cut both trucks in half. Added 22" to my frame, brake lines, fuel lines,wiring, and drive shafts. Cut both cabs in half and welded them together. RB

Very nice work, Rulebreaker.

Something like that is not out of the realm of possibility. If I find a nice rust-free 2wd 350, I can easily see myself converting it over to 4wd.

Thanks for the responses.

Ken
