No offense, but that's a load of BS All original trucks aren't necessarily common but the term is widely understood to mean at minimum a vehicle that retains the original powerplant and transmission.
With all that out of the way, Welcome to FTE! - the bestest Ford site on the internets.
some progress made. Guess Ill need to make a build thread soon. Axle is free from frame, wood bed all ripped out and assessment of the rust on the bed was done. not too bad.

well I would but a picture does not allow it to be seen well. DMV and police officer already confirmed this morning the number I posted is a clean VIN and has the previous 2 owners names who I know.

Did you or your DMV/Police officer compare the VIN listed on the Warranty Data Plate against the VIN stamped on the frame??
That is the only cross check to confirm your door plate goes with the truck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The VIN you posted indicates:
F10 = F100 , 2WD
A = 240 cubic inch engine, 1-barrel, I-6
N = Built in the Norfolk, VA assembly plant
816088 = sequential assembly number: Built in April, 1966.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other manufacturing information that is usually stamped on the Warranty Data Plate that could be decoded would be:
WHEEL BASE
COLOR CODE
BODY CODE
TRANSMISSION CODE
AXLE CODE
MAX GVW
CERT NET HP
RPM
DSO

yes, that is one of the main reasons the police officer came to my house was to run the plates and make sure they werent swapped or the truck was stolen.
I will have to see if I can get the rest of the numbers off the plate then
