Have a 2000 4x4 Ranger XLT Super cab, automatic and fully loaded. Unit was rolled and body totaled.
Would like to install a 2001 4x2 XLT extended cab (previously a manual transmission), fenders, and box on to the 4x4 rolling chassis.
The 4x2 does not have any options compared to the 4x4. I can swap out the door panels, steering column, dash unit, etc. but more worried if the cab, fenders, and box will fit the 4x4 frame.
I do realize the 2001 manual cab will not cause a problem placing it over a auto transmission other than removing the clutch assembly and installing the auto brake pedal. As well as a few other minor part swaps.
If both are supercabs there would be no problem swapping frames. Both cabs mount to the frames in the same 6 locations. Front mounts just outboard of the radiator, #1 cab mount under just outboard of the drivers left and passengers right foot and #2 cab mounts behind the seat on the kick up. There will also be a strap attached to the cab lower rear bottom center that wraps around a frame crossmember.
