I was out at a junkyard in North Houston yesterday to pick up some interior parts for my '97. They had advertised a wrecked '97 F250 PS 4X4 on craigslist. I got there and found out it was a cclb F350, with the complete front frame and axle assembly cut off the truck, sitting in the bed ready to go!
I was able to grab my interior parts, and I scored a FREE TS chip off the truck, cause the junk man didn't know what it was. Pulled a 3 inch downpipe off the engine/trans assembly for $30.
I asked the guy how much he wanted for the axle assembly, and he asked $400. I don't have the tools or space to take advantage of the deal right now, but I thought someone else near Houston might want to look into it. Literally everything you need for a D60 swap. The axle certainly needed to be cleaned up and gone through, but I would say it is definitely worth the price.
I wish I had taken a pic of it. The thought didn't cross my mind.
Name of the place is Sam's Auto Salvage, 8002 Furay Rd, Houston TX
How can you NOT find space for it. From my understanding that is a $1200 axle down there. Let it ride around in that back of your truck for a week till it sells

Make sure you get the pitman arm and the cast u-bolt bracket on the passenger's side. Take steering links (for the couplers if nothing else), the drive shaft and it's transfer case yoke if you can.
Wether it has a front or rear sway bar or not, look to see if it has the frame mounted end link tabs for the front or rear.
