I run Rotella T3 15W40 and use a Baldwin B2 filter. There is still plenty of zinc in the Rotella and the extra detergent doesn't hurt anything.

I am a firm believer in changing oil at least every 5000 miles. I know some oils have extended drain intervals , but I like to get it out along with all of the fine metal fragments. All filters let something through and even the smallest metal dust is like a rubbing compound or lapping compound. So get it out and get fresh stuff in.

The filter choice comes with a lot of research. Also, one of my best friends works at a place called Buena Vista. BV has 95% of the world market cornered on building and selling machines that test filters. Every filter manufacturer in the World has one of their machines except for a couple. The filters they use to clean the test fluids back to "0" contaminants is Baldwin or Donaldson. There are several engineers on staff there that do nothing but study and work with dirty fluids and how to clean them up.

Rotella 15w40 the second the truck is out of warranty. Religious 3 or 3 or 3 oil and filter changes. 3k miles or 3 months or 3 weeks heavy or dusty service. 7 ford trucks, all ran 300,000 miles on original engine with no major work. Only filters and oil, sensors, plugs as needed. Still running good when sold.

Rotella, 15w40 summer 5w40 winter.
Motorcraft, Wix/NAPA 1515, Hastings or Baldwin filter depending on what's available.

I got 285,000 miles out of the first engine in this truck.
Spun a bearing starting one cold morning.
