I run Valvoline 20w50 mainly because of the engine shop that built my engine years ago before they went out of business didn't replace the valve guides but just knurled them resulting in oil consumption over many miles. 20w50 isn't as bad as it is with 10w30.

I haven't used Castrol GTX but I do know BMW recommends the use of Castrol though.

Valvoline 10W30. Either a Purolator, or Motorcraft filter.

all my Fords run a FL1A oil filter, even my '58 Ford Workmaster 641 and my '68 Ford 3000 tractors. Difference is my truck I just use plain oil where as my '56 and my '58 641 I run Valvoline VR1 racing oil 20w50 as they are solid tappet lifters and they are older engines where they will benefit from the extra zinc in VR1. The 3000 I ran Vavoline diesel oil in it, cant remember the weight but its the one in the bottle with the Cummings logo on it.

This change, Motorcraft diesel 10w30 with a FL1A. Next change will be Chevron supreme 5w30 with a zddp additive with a WIX filter.
