The three little words that the wife and I love to hear from each other are... "Let's eat out..." We'll have to get creative if we are going to contribute. As fancy as I usually get on camping trips is good old sausage/peppers/onions or burgers and dogs.
I resemble that!
If there is a good meat market nearby, I can cook up some damn good brats!

LOL. I don't get any fancier when camping either. Lately the further we push from home, the more I want to sample the local flavors. Had a great night in VA last year at a brewpub with some great local music.
I cook and eat waaaay better while camping. So dang busy on any normal week I eat out enough to the point I'm sick of it at times. Nice change of pace to cook for myself.

Do our wives know each other? Haven't heard anybody other then Jen (wifey) use the term.
How does your wife make sloppy doe? We cook a roast in the crock pot, break it up with a fork, and add manwich. Been meaning to try some bbq sauces but haven't been inspired yet.
My wife's favorite is to make sweets. That's why I'm 250 lbs!! She makes great lemon or chocolate pound cakes and we all love her jalapeno beer bread that she does. She also makes a hell of a dip called "corn pea salsa" or some know it as "Cowboy Caviar". But we are up for about anything other than we keep Trent away from seafood due to allergies.

We grind almost everything and use it instead of burger. She uses ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, relish, salt & pepper. (I had to go ask her) I kill it, she cooks it. A few years ago my son said "we're not having sloppy joes we're having sloppy does".
