I've been sluffing too....
Figured I'd call mid day sometime, but works been busier than a horhouse on dollar night, haven't made time yet.
Far as having trouble getting through, my guess is after labor day most campgrounds cut their summer staff and run on minimum staffing levels.
Roy, and I apologize if you have covered this, do you have contact info after they close for winter?

For the guys that are waiting, I'd book ASAP. This is the week of 4th of July next year and they will book up. Since they are no longer holding our block of sites, if you wait, and they book the sites in our area, you won't be able to grab a site near the group.
