300 4 barrel conversion?

300 4 barrel conversion?

He all, ive been having trouble with my stock intake and carb set up so I've been contemplating switching my 66 300 over to a 4 barrel setup. Has anyone here done something similar? My plan is to use the Offenhauser Dual Port Intake Manifold. headman duel headers and a Edelbrock Thunder Series 500 cfm carb. Is this a good idea?

Not an authority by no means, and do not intend being a nay sayer, but you may want to review the trans/axle gearing to determine if they meet 4bbl application. Wonder if you will need to upgrade the Cam and Lifter's for the 4bbl application? Having gone from a 2bbl to a 4bbl on my 65 F100, with Dana 44, 3.54 axle ratio, and T18, I rarely, if ever, get the Holley into the secondaries. Anyhow, just wondering, perhaps more knowledgeable member can advise?

You don't need a new cam by any means but a new cam would help let more air in and out which is the whole point of the carb and header swap.
