The Volare front suspension is supposed to have about 4 inches of up or down play for heighth adjustment and I was wondering if you would be able to tell where the adjustment would be by the number of threads showing on the adjuster screws?
I'm having a lot of clunking going over bumps and pot holes and was concerned that it might be at the bottom of the adjustment. I took it to a front end shop and they told me everything looked good under the suspension. its on my 54 ford pick up.
Would the fact that it was at the bottom of adjustment cause it to clunk?
Simple answer: try raising it up a turn on the adjusters and see if it still clunks. Many drop the front to the bottom of the adjustment to get the front down where it is likely to bottom out and ride strangely. If you want it to perform properly and still be low in the front try finding some dropped spindles for the Volare IFS. Do some research to learn how to check the upper and lower ball joints and A-arm bushings. It's not difficult to do.
