Ford may put out or already have software update to correct that issue, I would just check with your dealer when you stop in.
If you can think back to when your truck was brand new, did it do the same then? If not, perhaps disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes, then reconnect. I think that puts the transmission back into the learning mode, may help, shouldn't hurt.
Seriously? Why can't Ford make a problem free transmission??? It has been almost 30 years since I have heard of a problem free ford trans.! Why don't they just buy a known reliable trans from a competitor an copy the darn things?

This is a couple threads now that you've recently chimed in bangin' on Fords transmissions. I'm not sure where your coming from on your assessment of Fords transmission quality.
I've owned Fords exclusively since I was 17 years and had one failure that was my fault. I neglected to service the transmission on my 1985 Tempo and after 90K+ miles, it failed.
2500 Km on my 5.0 xlt
I had three hard downshifts from 5th to 4th while passing with my trailer attached.
No more hard shifts for the past 2 weeks so I assume that the tranny was in learning mode.
The tranny upshifts and downshifts smoothly now in reg, tow or sport mode.
Not sure if this threads is still alive. I have a 2015 2.7 liter XLT and from a cold start going down my (kind of steep) long driveway the transmission make a clunking sound and shift from 1st to 3rd to 5th and then back to 3rd. When I stop it stays in 3rd and won't go back to 1st unless I turn the truck off then back on...took it to the shop and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. Only happens maybe once every week of so. Anyone having anything like this going on?
Mine has a very firm downshift from 5th to 4th, but only in the sport mode. Never noticed it in the economy mode. I'll ask the dealer about it next time it's in for service.

No wandering shifting here, but I do notice a considerable lag when commanding a shift from 2nd to 1st. We also have a rather long driveway with a couple of steep declines. I typically drop the tranny into 1st on purpose to go down a couple of the declines, and it takes 5 to 10 seconds before the transmission actually goes into 1st. Often it's a rather rough shift too. This is while going between 5 and 10 MPH.
I had this TSB done and the transmission downshift issue is fixed, however I wound up with a CEL (P0315) after the reprogramming of the PCM. If this happens Ford has a fix for it. Special service message #698298 has the tech do a "misfire monitor neutral profile correction" with a scan tool.
My 2015 EB FX4 has done a few slamming shifts in the 6 months that I've owned to truck. Going from 5th to 4th under very low gas pedal input and from 3rd to 4th with the same amount of pedal. The 3.5 makes lots of torque down low on the tach. I cant repeat it. I wonder the if the torque is starting to come on and the tranny shifts normally? It is odd. I feel it for sure. It's alarming when it does it.
