Have you searched using the Advanced search option? Do not use he big search box on top, go to the search on the thin blue line and get on the r/h drop down menu arrow.
Go to advanced search, put in what you are looking for (top l/s side) and then highlight the 73-79 forum (bottom r/h) and search in there only.
I did not have any luck either, but I only searched for a sec. Are you needing pic of a a/c box that was pulled out and a piece of s/m put in place?

I did try that, I came up empty however. I may have imagined it,that happens from time to time lol.
This guy had replaced his entire firewall. As I have a fair amount of rust around my flange, I'm in need of ideas.
No that wasn't it, but that is very helpful, thank you!
The actual flange portion of my firewall is rotted in several places, to the point where I'm seriously considering heading west to find a donor cab. I love fab work, but it seems really bad. I guess I'll just keep taking stuff off it until I find where I'm at.
When doing a ac to non ac conversion you have to plug the hole in firewall. The heater box has two mounting screws that fall within this hole. If you don't line everything up to the mm the box will not fit.
The solution is to find a doner truck without ac.
You cut the firewall out right at the lip.
The lip of your truck then guides the replacement firewall into the correct position up down side to side.
The doner I used had no engine so took half hr to cut out using a cutting wheel.
Used body caulk between old n new firewall to seal.
