Juan, just spend the few bucks and get the correct header panel and save a few hours cutting and scrubbing fiberglass off of yourself
I have heard though that some of the aftermarket header panels are way more flimsy than the stocker. Thoughts?
Mounting hardware is still needed even if the header is replaced correct?

I got OEM from the junkyard...they pulled it and everything..I think I paid like 100.00 for it. Now the newer one might be a couple bucks more. I got one for 2003. I think aftermarket are around 70-80 bucks..figured for a couple bucks more I would have no issues with the flimsiness.
Had some time yesterday to work on one of the lights. I followed the template at the beginning of this thread. I removed material from the inside out, hoping not to have to remove as much as the template suggests.
I had to remove exactly what the template suggest....grinding additionally in spots to get a good fit. The only mount points that I used are the ones at the bottom....directly above the bumper. The other 2 mount points that I used are on the very top of the header panel.
