engine block vin

I have an engine out of a 87' f350, I know its a 351w but need more.info.

That ain't a VIN, it's an engineering number. Part numbers are on whatever package the part comes in, maybe SOMETIMES on a metal tag attached to things like transmissions. Engineering numbers are what you see cast into parts.

So that number just says it's an engine, designed or revised in 1984 by the Ford engine division.

E4 (1984)
A (Engine)
E (Ford engine division)
6015 (Base part number)
FA 3 (Revisions)
(6A16) (Not sure)

I am NOT an expert at this so take what I say with a grain or two of sodium chloride (salt).

A guy by the name of NumberDummy on here could explain this to you way better than I could.
