Engine serial, Truck vin match?
So I so I guess I'm asking if I can identify my motor to my vehicle VIN number. I received my truck back in pieces from an auto mechanic in town and I'm trying to figure out if he gave me my block back the block that was matched up with my truck from the factory?

question about engine serial..
The "VIN" number of the truck should be stamped on the "engine block" on the 6.4L 2008 F-350? I know there's a serial number on the Block and a VIN number on the body but I did not know that there is a VIN number on the Block?

If no vin is found you can look at the date codes on the parts you have. They should be a few weeks before the mfg date of truck. If block date code is after date code on truck obviously it would not have been original.
