I will start wiring my '50 F2 for 12V soon and have a universal wiring harness to completely replace the original wiring. My question is has anyone found the "best" place to install the fuse block inside the cab? I thought I saw a picture of one mounted in the drivers side kick panel area but I forgot to bookmark it and I'll be darned if I can find it now. Any suggestions?
I was going to post a pic of mine, but I remember I have in the past so I went and dug up one of the old threads instead.
Here is another old thread about fuse box locations; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...placement.html
I always thought I would put mine in the glovebox, The cardboard bits are toast and was going to make a new one out of some light gauge metal. Thought I would insulate. the block from the metal with some EPDM or similar stuff. I'm quite a ways out till I'm ready for wiring though. It's just a idea right now.
What I did was to fabricate mounting plates for all items that were to be mounted on the inside firewall and then used structural adhesive to mount them in place. In the photo below you can see, from left to right, the e-brake mount, the fuse block mount (long screws to fit the block), the MSD ignition box mount, gas pedal, and the Vintage Air mount. All these items are mounted to the firewall and yet none of the mounting hardware shows through the firewall and is visible from the engine compartment. The black coating on the floor and inside firewall surfaces is LizardSkin.
