Today the dealer called to let me know that Ford would warranty the replacement of my High Pressure Fuel System. My understanding is that they will replace the HPFP, all the fuel lines, pressure sensor and injectors. I am pleased that Ford did the right thing and stood behind there product. I just pray it does not happen again. It scares that &rap out of me.
Yeah man that is GREAT to hear, seriously, staring at a 12k-15k bill that some people on here have had to do I couldn't imagine....I think you should keep the truck. The failures of these pumps haven't been widespread, only isolated to a handful of people. I would probably guess you either got a faulty pump, or bad fuel somewhere along the way. Thanks for the update, also these trucks to me atleast are some of the most comfortable I have ever driven.
This morning I was driving and the truck just died. Of course that means no power steering or breaks. Plugged in my scan tool and error code PA0093 came up. The code was for a fuel system leak, large leak. The truck did restart and i was able to make it home.
Has anyone had experience with this issue. I have done a little reading on the web and it seems that it usually means a bad fuel injector or fuel pressure sensor.
Any help or thought's would be great. Thanks
I dropped a valve and had my top end rebuilt two years ago and ever since I have had the same problem... I'm tried of dumping cash into this pos truck. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? It has been to like 10 different dealers and diesel shops and every time they give me a 2k bill and dies a few mins after I leave the shop . At the dealer right now and they are replacing the injector seals again. He says that should fix the problem lol
I had the same issue on my 2015 truck. Heading out on a trip and the stopped to fuel up and as I was waiting for the wife to come from the store I started to ease away from the fuel pump and park in the parking lot.
The truck went into reduced power and shut down. I only moved far enough to Block the entrance to the truck stop. truck and the truck was dead. Would not restart.
Had to call a wrecker and have it towed back to Florida and a separate wrecker to tow the 5th wheel back to Florida. There was a Ford dealership next to the truck stoop but they only had one diesel mechanic and he did not work weekends.
Towed back to dealer where it was four days before they could figure out where the issue was. It was telling them I had a massive fuel leak.It was very hard to see the sensor and get to as I was told on the side of the motor. I wish I had more info for what it was they replaced and where it was located
Four days later and a $800.00 + sensor it was fixed. Thank goodness it was under warranty.
Also if the truck sat for a period of time like over night it would start up and run then would shut down again.
