I'm glad they are addressing the problem. Please check back once you get the truck back and let us know if the problem is fixed. I'm confident the problem is inside the trans, so a new one should fix it.
Did that Silverado come with the snow plow... - oh, wait - that's the plastic air dam ;-)
Steve, that air dam is probably the most appealing part of that truck, to me. I've been considering for some time now buying or fabricating an air dam for my F350. It's a relatively simple modification to improve fuel economy and highway speed stability. Which, BTW, is another reason not to level your truck.
Looks like my replacement transmission is delayed by shipping, won't be in until the middle of next week. Which, if they button it up quickly, only gives me a couple of days to drive it enough to feel confident in putting it back to work hauling. I have consecutive race weekends coming up, no room for down-time. Motorcycle racing on the 29th at Pacific Raceways, and car racing (in Portland) on the 6th-7th. Stop by and say Hi if you'd like to spectate and don't mind the admission fee.
That's an '06 KTM 560 SMR, and a '69 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce (Duetto). I'm also racing a '65 Honda CB160 not pictured here.
does anybody have ford part number on the HD4r100? I called my go to ford parts dealer and they had never heard of it. A part number to reference may help. or a reference to someone who knows where to find it.

I'm sorry your parts person didn't try to do this himself to make a $4,000 sale. I know from experience how disappointing it must be.

They didn't try to tell him it dose not exist, I think " we've never heard of that" is a fair answer....it leaves room for collaboration. It would be pleasant if they made an effort though.
Just picked up my truck. Now I'm getting an "overdrive off" light flashing intermittently at slower speeds. Turned around, went right back to the dealership. I'm there now, standing around, waiting to find out what's next.
They're saying that the code stored is for the transmission temperature sensor. Which is odd, because it now has the larger transmission cooler, which was brand-new.

The code is almost certainly due to an electrical issue with the sensor, not because the trans is overheating.
They said, if I remember correctly, that it was a loose 10-pin connector on the passenger side of the transmission. They replaced it, and I drove home without incident or flashing light. Question is, do I trust the truck enough to haul my enclosed trailer from Seattle to Portland in a week and a half for my next car race?
