How does my '08 V10 know there is a loose wire in my fifth wheel?

 

TO help us, what makes YOU think there is?

 

Well, the first time I found a loose connection to an auxiliary(?) freezer I keep in the front compartment. The second time I lost a magnet in one of the brakes. The led in the dashboard kept alerting me to a wiring fault on the trailer. How do it know?

 

Is this ALERT from the TBC (Trailer Brake Controller)? Or from where on the truck...

The TBC only looks at the brake circuit and reports any faults. It does not look at anything else. It wouldn't see anything relative to a fridge connection.

 

It's possible the frig connection could be a coincidence. Thanks.
