Well I took the plunge and started to convert the trailer lighting over to LED.
Phase 1 Interior lights. The current dome lights are running 921 bulbs. These have been replaced with 194 LEDs. At first, I thought the output was low then it dawned on me, the battery on the trailer is a bit weak. Luckily, the Explorer has a 7 pin receptacle. Instant 12 volt power plant. The light came to life. Best part. Happy wife as she felt the trailer was too bright. Other good part. I found about 12 bulbs basically burning out out of 20 in the interior. Saved the other bulbs in case if I even need them.
Now after my wife and I second home improvement session we found other LED projects like the reading lamps above the bed or the outside patio light. Since I didn't have the time to get the numbers of the bulbs, I went to the trailer again tonight to check everything out. In my fiddling to get other blub numbers, I just had to look at the marker lights. Of course they are 194. Which I popped a couple of them in then the trailer owner became mesmerized. Of course my wife has the on going Amazon order going. (Those who work them or have stock, you're welcome!) We now have another set of 194s for the marker lights. A set of the replacements for the reading lights and a blub for the outside light. The only thing I didn't replace is the taillights.
Who else has participated in the LED lighting replacement? Any of the Dry campers out there?
I changed all of my interior lights to LEDs. I was tired of melted covers and found several bulbs that the base had changed from polished metal to blued metal. I guess I was using to hot of a bulb? Can you send me a link to your source of bulbs? My bulbs came in a kit I purchased at Camping World. They give off a lot of light but I am not happy with the blue output. I would like to change the exterior bulbs on the tail lights and marker lights. I am waiting to find bulbs that put out white light at an affordable price.
We just replaced all the lights inside the camper with these. Very nice white light and very inexpensive at $20 for 10 bulbs. Next will be the outside lights, haven't checked what they take. FWIW these fit in the door marker lights and front console dome light on my 2000 Ex also.

And these for the interior lights. http://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-BA15S-1156-1141-1073-Dome-Bulb-15-5050-SMD-LED-Warm-White-NEW-/170753292877?hash=item27c1b07a4d
I had my links up for awhile but the forum ate them.* I just did a search on Amazon for the bulbs. I looked at several highly rated products for the sizes I was looking for. Looking for RV specific reviews were key. I will know how well they did when we take the trailer out this weekend. Road travel. Real world usage. That kind of thing.
* I think I know why as I grabbed the info for the light kits from my amazon lists. It might have revealed some additional information. If that is the case, big thanks to the mods of FTE. If not, and it was a minor infraction, sorry for the lapse in stupidity. I will blame that on the cat. Yeah the cat. The cat tries to trip me usually around the time he would like to be fed. LOL
I switched my interior lights over to LED before our last camping trip. I tested them out that night, but unfortunately never used them on the trip as I tore my sewer line off earlier and decided to tent camp instead. Also put some in the dome lights of my camper shell on the 350 which we did use and really liked the light output and not worrying too much about running the battery down very quickly. Got some good quality bulbs in a 10 pack on Amazon for a great price (similar to what Whispers76 linked to). Still have a few left.
I was switching over because we only do boon docking and dry camping and on only 1 battery and no solar yet, I wanted to not worry so much about killing the battery with the lights over a 3 day trip.
I got my second set of replacement LEDs yesterday. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to last night or tonight to replace them. However, tomorrow is another day. What I will do is try to get a few pictures of the handy work for the others on the forum to ogle them.
No pictures. Too tired from being in the high temps and chasing after my boundless energy of my daughter. However, I got everything converted except on one. The side utilities light. It usually just shines the for the sewer hose. Since I don't use it, I didn't change it. The marker lights have been changed up. The patio/ dome light is now nice and bright. My wife likes the lighting of the trailer now especially the reading lights in the bed room. So far. So good.
