Climate Control

Having issues with my 11 f-250 6.7 and the climate control. When it is hot outside and I first turn on the truck (with the key and not remote start) and the climate control is set to auto with both sides calling for a low temperature, it will alternate warm and cold air and also constantly switch from floor to dash to vents with no real consistent pattern. It will do this while driving in town as well but seems to correct itself when traveling highway speeds. I don't believe it is a cooling issue because it will freeze you out when it is working correctly. Also, when I checked it out at an idle while it was acting up, the compressor never shut off. I am assuming it to be a sensor of some sort but wondered if anyone had experienced similar issues before I take it to a dealer.
