Trouble removing lower power steering line on 1999 4.2L V6
Hi all Im new here but had no choice as the internet has been giving me no answers
So I've been spending the entire week and past one trying to remove my power steering pumps lower line going into the pump. Anyone by chance know what size of wrench or special wrench is needed? My local stores were no help and I tired every size and everything is either too small or too big.
Also before any one says try vice gripes I have, theres no room to get any in there even with half the left side of the truck removed.
-Thanks for any help in advance.

You know, the same one on my 98 5.4 is leaking and I have tried to get a wrench on it, bought a metric crows foot set and found the 18mm fit the fitting. A buddy of mine had mentioned cutting the steel line kind of short and then using a socket on it to get the flare nut and stub out. Going back in may be a different story. I thought maybe an 18mm deepwell socket with a notch cut out of one side like a o2 sensor socket. Have yet to do it. If you try this let us know how it goes.

Hi. 2001 F150 w 5.4...All my lines were rusty. I wound up cutting the line, pulling the pump off, and getting the end out with an impact wrench. Was an 11/16" IIRC.
Good luck
Good luck
