The snap ring pliers are great to own, but you can borrow the press and make the install tool, although the seal tool is more foolproof the the DIY version.
That's what a needed. Can search from there. Main thing is the tools I have now for that kinda stuff isn't big/stout enough for the f350 so I gotta stock up.
Stock up for possibly a one time use? If I were you I would get the snap ring pliers as they are a lifetime useful tool if you do a lot of mechanical work. When I did my ball joints eight years ago I made my own seal installer with Home Depot pipe for about $12 and in my shop facility I already had the ball joint press that you can borrow from Advance or Autozone (one is better then the other). Today if I would need to do this again it would be at home and I would just need to borrow the press from the store.
Here's the continuing thread on the subject. If you haven't seen it.

Thanks for the link. I like to own my own tools. Too inconvenient to "borrow"
I get more use then just my stuff out of them (once I have them) I'm not against making the install tool either but buying will probably be better for me for it that's for sure

I'd like to have rain. Our rainfall here in nj is at 10% of normal for the last 4 weeks. We have trees that have leaves turning yellow and dropping. Even 40-50 ft with tap roots next to wetlands.
I thought on one of the other forums the thread was modified for the newer hubs.
I would also use xrf ball joints. Million mile warrenty, and they seem to hold up in the Dodge front ends, something no one else seemed to be able to do. Impact and at least a map gas torch. Heat is key to getting that stuff apart.

No heat or impact. Just a good bath in Kroil and let soak in a few days.
Well I don't need to help here cause Chuck (who helped me) has posted everything including Tool #'s
I was foolish & didn't order the 7750 Plier Set upfront, then of course could not get it apart & had to wait till Amazon got them to me (very nice Pliers)
Also I had debated between XRF & Raybestos, ended up going Raybestos (Ball-Joints & Hub's) but I will say this.... I would NOT buy them again, had an issue & Raybestos were very crappy on phone & would not help. Luckily Amazon stepped up to the plate & yes I left a Review for Raybestos on Amazons web-site.
