Thank you! This will help greatly when I'm back. I probably could have followed the first post, but you're right, it was Friday afternoon....(:
Bummer about being hit but glad you are ok. My turn signals stopped working yesterday. I replaced the flasher that is dangling under the dash to no avail so now I have to start digging as well. I'm going to have to stop saying I hate electrical problems. It must be like praying for patience - anytime you do it you get thrust into the middle of things you don't want in order to develop yourself.
10-4 on praying for patience, That's right up there with "expand my territory"
There are 2 flasher fuses. the other may still be clamped to the back of the cluster as in its original location.
Mii, do forgive my narrow mindedness. I'm happy your not injured as well.
I'm also in the process of wiring up additional dash cameras into the daily drivers. I had just a few weeks ago put one in one car to test it out and see if I liked the set up - only to then be hit in the car that didn't have a dash cam. Just my luck.
Tell me more about these flashers...I did see the...big flasher fuse, but assumed (like one shouldn't do) that it was just for the hazards. I had to replace the dash cluster so I'm wondering if this second flasher fuse behind the cluster might also be part of my problem; not having blinkers or brake lights.
Many moons have past and many barley pops have been consumed sense my last run about with this issue. one flasher should be in a "U" clamp under the dash, the other should be behind the cluster plugged into the plastic housing.
As you know, the blinker assy, brake light switch, flashers and even the bus fuses all work togehter to complete or break the circuit as it may be.
1st...I also am glad you are OK. Metal can be replaced.
Usually when there are two problems ya gotta find what they have in common. If the fronts light up but not the rears then look what the turn signals and brake lights have in common in the rear. If no bueno all over then look at the turn signal switch. The brake lights go through it also. Does your T/S lever feel loosey goosey? Then that's prolly it.
I am SO far behind. I feel like this was just a couple weeks ago. I hope y'all had a great holiday! We had some major flooding here in SC and then I personally has some more from broken pipes. It's been crazy.
I finally have the part and plan to work on it next week. These posts will be VERY helpful.
I got the blinkers working correctly, but still don't have any brake lights. I went ahead and got a new brake light switch along with the cam that was suggested.
It almost looks like the brakes are engaged when I pull the headlight switch, would that be possible? I guess we will find out.
Would it be terrible to just connect the wires directly instead of using the plugs?
